CUW Check Presentation to West-MECGLENDALE AZ Credit Union West awarded $5000 in scholarships to Western Maricopa Education Center (West-MEC) to support the districts career and technical education students. Credit Union West, VP of Relationship Management, Lisa Hay, presented the $5000 check to West-MEC Superintendent Gregory Donovan. The scholarship fund will help provide additional assistance to more students pursing various career pathways. The scholarships will be awarded to top students who demonstrate outstanding achievement by meeting program completion requirements and participating in student leadership activities. In addition to supporting students as they enter the workforce and pursue further education, Credit Union West will also provide financial education workshops and share best practices in job interviewing with students. Students will also have an opportunity to serve on a credit union youth advisory panel and benefit from a savings club. West-MECs Credit Union West scholarships help students afford the costs associated with career-specific licensing and certification exams. West-MECs eight central programs are associated with industry licensing or certification such as, an emergency medical technician certification, or a state license to practice cosmetology.
