The United Credit Union of Ness City, Kansas, held their 3rd Annual Kid’s Money Camp on June 9th. The free money camp offers children from the ages of 5 to 9 to learn all aspects of money during the afternoon through six different activities. Thanks to the help of a financial wellness grant from HCUCF, the credit union was able to up their kid count to 30 kids. The children were split into six groups, five kids each, with four employees and five volunteers helping. Each year the kids always say that the Lemonade stand in the drive thru is their favorite part. Community members are invited to purchase lemonade, as well as cotton candy this year, to help the youth learn to count back change. It’s a great experience for the children, as well as the small community see the difference credit unions make. We are people helping people, in this case our youth to have a brighter future!
