[Frederick, Maryland] – Nymeo Federal Credit Union, a community credit union with locations in Frederick and Gaithersburg, awarded two Frederick County High School Seniors each with a Nymeo Believe & Achieve College Scholarship.

Feiyan Collins from Walkersville High School and Brina Ratangee from Urbana High School were this year’s recipients. Both students received a $1500 scholarship from Nymeo. A committee of judges based the winners on their essays, academic accomplishments and participation in school and community activities.

Additionally, Sara Buckley, a Linganore High School graduate, and current Hood College student, received a college scholarship of $1000 from Nymeo and the Credit Union Foundation of Maryland and the District of Columbia, Inc.

“Each year, we receive outstanding applications from high school seniors throughout Frederick and Montgomery Counties,” said Vicki Johnston, President and CEO of Nymeo. “It’s a very competitive process, and the judges have a difficult time choosing the winners amongst a pool of exceptional students. Thank you to those who applied to our scholarship and to the CU Foundation of Maryland and the District of Columbia Scholarship.”

This is the seventh year the community credit union has awarded this scholarship to area students. Aside from this scholarship, Nymeo also sponsors the Millionaire’s Club and Start-Up Frederick for FCPS.
