SACRAMENTO, Calif., May 27, 2021 – Golden 1 Credit Union (Golden 1) members donated a record $815,000 to help nonprofits across the Sacramento region during the annual Big Day of Giving on Thursday, May 6, 2021, a 5% increase over last year’s donations.

“We know the need for assistance is greater now than ever before. We are thankful to our members who were able to donate to help those in need during this year’s annual Big Day of Giving,” said Erica Taylor, Vice President of Communications and Community Relations. “Every year we are humbled by the generosity of the region, and this year was no exception. Golden 1 was proud to once again support our neighbors and communities and those who contribute to them.”

Golden 1 supported nonprofits on Big Day of Giving this year with nearly $120,000 in corporate donations, matching funds, and event sponsorship. For the eighth consecutive year, Golden 1 proportionally matched member donations made with a Golden 1 debit or credit card up to $50,000.

Big Day of Giving launched in 2013 as a program of the Sacramento Region Community Foundation and to date has raised more than $65 million for nonprofit organizations in El Dorado, Placer, Sacramento, and Yolo counties.
