Sioux Falls Federal Credit Union Awards $5,000 in Scholarships

Sioux Falls, May 11, 2021: Zoe Bruflat, Kole Jackson, Jocelyn Kooistra, Sophia Schmaltz and Grace Schildhauer were each recently awarded the $1,000 Community Service Scholarships from Sioux Falls Federal Credit Union. Each student will use the funds to continue their secondary education this fall.
The five winners had outstanding records of service to their community. “These young adults are perfect examples of the impact one person can have on improving the lives of others” said Fran Sommerfeld, President/CEO of Sioux Falls Federal Credit Union. “We are extremely proud of both their academic and community service accomplishments and proud to call them member-owners of this cooperative”. “Supporting the pursuit of secondary education is one of the ways we try to achieve our corporate vision of Helping People Live Better,” said Sommerfeld.
Zoe Bruflat is attending Northwestern College, Kole Jackson is attending South Dakota School of Mines, Jocelyn Kooistra is attending University of Montana, Sophia Schmaltz is attending the University of Minnesota and Grace Schildhauer is attending Black Hills State University.
Sioux Falls Federal Credit Union was chartered in 1934 and currently serves anyone who lives or works in Minnehaha, Lincoln, McCook and Turner counties of South Dakota. The not-for-profit cooperative has over 28,500 members with six Sioux Falls member branches and one administration location.
