TFCU Offering Ten Scholarships to Local Students

El Paso, Texas. Tuesday, May 4, 2021 –TFCU was founded in 1936 as a financial cooperative to provide educators and their families with quality financial products and services. As a pillar of education in the El Paso community, TFCU will award a total of ten scholarships this year. They will offer nine $1,000 scholarships and one $2,000 scholarship named The Charles Hart Memorial Scholarship in honor of their late and devoted Board Member, Mr. Charles Hart. 

Mr. Hart dedicated his life to education and served on the TFCU Board for over 25 years. Throughout his 41-year career, he received many awards and accolades to include Superintendent of the Year for Texas in 2001. 

“We are saddened by the loss of one of our most trusted and esteemed directors, and we are truly honored to name this scholarship after him as it is a testament to the passion he had for education,” stated Max Villaronga, President/CEO of TFCU.  

“We truly hope that these scholarships continue to provide the necessary aid to the students in our beloved community who think they may not be able to afford a  higher education,” said Alejandro Yu, VP of Marketing. 

To qualify for this scholarship, you must be a TFCU member and enroll in an accredited university or college as a full-time student. Applications are due June 1, 2021. For more information or to apply, please visit their website at tfcu.coop.
