SAN DIEGO, Calif., (May 4, 2021) – San Diego County Credit Union® (SDCCU®), San Diego’s largest locally-owned financial institution, is proud to support the Live Well San Diego Trails Challenge in partnership with the County of San Diego Department of Parks and Recreation as part of Mental Health Awareness Month. The Trails Challenge, encourages the community to get physically active and enjoy the incredible healing powers nature offers for our mind and body.

The Trails Challenge activities consist of ranger-led, socially distanced hikes each Saturday in May. Weekly hikes vary in difficulty and aim to help participants build up to the final Warrior Hike of El Capitan which celebrates the physical and mental stamina of active duty and retired military personnel and is often referred to as the toughest hike in San Diego. “We are pleased to support the County of San Diego and Live Well San Diego through our support of the Trails Challenge during Mental Health Awareness Month,” said Teresa Campbell, SDCCU president and CEO. “There is a correlation between physical, mental and financial health, and we encourage members of the community to get outside and experience the beauty of nature safely to help reduce stress.”
