Credit Union Gives Back to Local Nonprofits

orionMEMPHIS� Since January of this year, Orion Federal Credit Union has donated $7,500 and over 1,000 items to seven local nonprofit organizations as part of their community involvement program, Orion Gives Back. Launched in January of 2012, Orion selects a local non-profit each month to be the focus of their giving initiative. Their goal is to work with the organizations and to help provide for them and their needs in any way possible while creating a long-lasting partnership. "Were committed to our members and the communities we serve," says President and CEO Daniel Weickenand. "We know we can make the greatest impact in our community by giving back locally." Recipients thus far have included the Mid-South Food Bank, Memphis Family Shelter, Literacy Mid-South, Memphis Farmers Market, Clovernook Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired, Youth Villages, Indie Memphis, CASA Memphis, The Arc Mid-South, Friends for Life, Dress for Success Memphis, One Memphis, Hope House, Salvation Army Kroc Center, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Memphis, Porter-Leath and the Memphis Police Foundation.
