Glendale, CA (April 7, 2021) –– Los Angeles Federal Credit Union (LAFCU) raised $11,000 in donations for The Midnight Mission (TMM) in February. The funds were raised from online contributions and in-person branch donations. For every dollar raised, LAFCU also matched up to $5,000 for TMM through LAFCU’s charity, the Los Angeles Charitable Association. One hundred percent of donations will go to support TMM’s fight against poverty, homelessness, and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Since 1914, TMM, located in the Skid Row area of downtown Los Angeles, has offered a bridge to self-sufficiency for tens of thousands of people. They rely on the generosity of donors to help them serve people who are experiencing homelessness and near-homelessness with dignity, empathy, and respect. Every $2 raised or donated is used to provide one meal. In addition to providing meal services, TMM also provides housing, rehabilitation and counseling services to the community.
Anyone who lives in most counties of Southern California can join LAFCU and take advantage of its financial services. For details, visit www.LAFCU.org, call (877) MY LAFCU (695-2328), or visit a branch.
