CaptureHauppauge, NY - On Tuesday, July 23, 2013, a group of employees from Teachers Federal Credit Union rolled up their sleeves to spackle, sand and paint two homes in Island Park that were damaged by Hurricane Sandy. TFCU employees worked with UMCOR, the United Methodist Committee on Relief, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to alleviating human suffering around the globe. Teachers Federal Credit Unions community volunteer group is called "Team TFCU". Throughout the year, Team TFCU raises funds for local not-for-profit organizations and also donates time to various other groups. Team TFCU abides by the credit union motto of "People Helping People." The day spent in Island Park was a wonderful way for our employees to give back to Long Islanders as the Long Island community has enabled TFCU grow into the strong and stable financial institution it is today. "I encourage our employees to participate in community activities throughout Long Island. Corporate volunteering allows our employees to contribute their knowledge and skills to help those in need on Long Island", said Mr. Robert Allen, President/CEO of Teachers Federal Credit Union.
