First Financial Credit Union, headquartered in West Covina, California, donated over $12,000 to local schools as a result of contributions made to the credit union’s Matching Dollars 4 Schools donation program.

Over 87 years ago, First Financial was founded by educators for educators. Since that time, the credit union has proudly championed the California educational community through prosperous and challenging times.

“Supporting schools, teachers and students has always been a key part of how we give back to the local communities we serve,” states Carlton Musmann, President/CEO. “Thanks to the incredible generosity of First Financial members and staff, they collectively donated over $6,000. Each donation was matched dollar for dollar by the credit union, which enabled us to donate over $12,000.”

Purche Avenue Elementary School in Torrance and Hudnall Elementary School in Inglewood are the recipients. “We know these are very challenging times for our schools and our hope is this donation will help ease any financial or budgetary shortfalls,” continued Musmann.

Matching Dollars 4 Schools was held during the 2020 holiday season and raised money for local schools. Each donation was matched dollar for dollar by the credit union.

First Financial has 11 branches in Southern California, serving the San Gabriel and San Fernando Valleys, Los Angeles County, Orange County, San Diego County and the Inland Empire. Membership is open to the California educational community, college students enrolled in an accredited California college/university and active alumni, and their family members
