MANHATTAN, KS – February 23, 2021: On February 23, KState Credit Union presented a check for $7,712.50 to Shepherd’s Crossing—these funds were raised during their annual Skip-A-Payment program. The program allows credit union members to skip a loan payment during November or December in exchange for a charitable donation. This is the first time that Shepherd’s Crossing has been selected as the recipient.

LaRae Kraemer, President/CEO for KState Credit Union said, “This past year, there have been a lot of families and individuals in need of financial assistance. We are excited that the Skip-A-Payment proceeds are being donated to Shepherd’s Crossing, to help them, help others.”

Shepherd’s Crossing serves the communities of Riley County and St. George to assist those who have no other financial recourse by providing budget counseling, referrals or funds for utilities, rent & prescription medications. Each case is determined on an individual basis.

Beth Klug, Executive Director for Shepherd’s Crossing said, “We were thrilled to receive this generous donation from the KState Credit Union! Now more than ever many in the community are struggling to pay their rent and utilities. These funds will help us provide the assistance needed to keep families in their homes and utilities on. Thank you KState Credit Union for selecting Shepherd’s Crossing as the recipient.”
