The funds for the donation were generated through WyHys affinity credit card program. WyHy offers credit cards featuring the WYDOT and Wyoming Highway Patrol logos and puts $5 toward the Employee Relief Fund for every new credit or debit card issued. Regardless of the number of cards opened, WyHy has committed to donating a minimum of $2500 annually. This donation may assist up to five families in need that work for WYDOT/WHP. As WyHy was founded in 1953 by seven WYDOT employees, the relationship between the two organizations continues to grow each year: "WyHy works to provide superior support, not just to our members, but to the organizations in our communities that serve us," says William N. Willingham III, President and CEO of WyHy. "Through the creation of our affinity credit card program weve further solidified the relationship weve enjoyed with WYDOT since our inception." Additionally, WyHy collected donations at their annual Member Appreciation Day event in Cheyenne. WyHy matched the $110 donated by attendees, resulting in a $220 gift to WTDEA. Established in 1953, WyHy in partnership with their members maintains a strong financial position while providing a full range of high quality financial services which create and support members style of living. WyHy serves Wyoming through branches and ATMs in Cheyenne and Casper. They also serve the state through the credit union network known as CO-OP Shared Branching & CO-OP ATM, in which WyHy members can conduct banking transactions with other Shared Branching credit union participants including credit unions in the Wyoming cities of Evanston, Green River, Laramie, Pinedale and Rock Springs. WyHy members have access to over 6,800 branches and 30,000 ATMs nationwide.
