Kettering, Ohio, December 17, 2020 – Day Air Credit Union takes pride in partnering with organizations throughout the Miami Valley to provide support and financial education throughout the year. In 2020, Day Air was proud to help contribute more than $65,000 to support the local community, including numerous efforts to help make this holiday season a bit brighter.

Day Air was happy to have the opportunity to sponsor a 50/50 raffle with the Dayton Dragons Foundation benefitting The Dayton Foodbank. The raffle resulted in more than $16,000 in donations to the Foodbank providing more than 98,000 meals for local families.

Day Air’s Kettering Branch partnered with the City of Kettering to bring gifts to children through the Kettering Giving Tree. The Giving Tree is designed to help families in the Kettering School District that may not be able to provide gifts for their children.

The Day Air Centerville Branch sponsored a child through the Centerville City Schools Adopt a Family program. They provided a family with a $100 gift card, helping make their holiday season a little brighter.

The Day Air Beavercreek Branch purchased Kroger gift cards for the Feed the Creek program. Feed the Creek provides food for students in the Beavercreek Public School system. This aids students that are on governmentassisted meal plans by providing easy-to-prepare meals to eat on the weekends when they are not at school.

Day Air’s VA Branch donated gift bags filled with activities to the Community Living Center (CLC) at the Dayton VA Medical Center. The CLC is made up of two nursing homes on the VA campus: the Hospice Unit and the Memory Care Unit.

The Day Air York Commons Branch donated to the Butler Township Christmas with a Cop program. Officers from Butler Township and the City of Vandalia assisted children in the community as they shopped for needed items for themselves and their immediate family.

“While the holidays may be different for all of us this year, we still put a lot of effort into our holiday gift giving donations to make sure everyone in the communities we serve is able to enjoy the holidays with their family,” said Bill Burke, President and CEO of Day Air Credit Union. “As a financial cooperative it is imperative for us to serve the wellbeing of all who live, work, worship, or attend school in the Miami Valley.”

Day Air was a proud sponsor of the We Care Arts Cookie Walk where community members could pre-order their holiday cookies and pick them up through a socially-distanced drive-thru! We Care Arts is a local organization that increases confidence and artistic skill in a variety of individuals with varying disabilities and physical challenges.
