Fresno, CA – In response to Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton, and the recent wildfires in California this year, Educational Employees Credit Union (EECU) provided much-needed financial support to aid its members who were impacted by these devastating natural disasters.
More than 4,900 members living in areas affected by the
hurricanes and fires received an email from EECU with information about its
disaster assistance program. The program offers qualified members zero percent
interest for one year on existing overdraft protection loans and signature
lines of credit, deferred loan payments, higher Visa credit card limits, and fee
waivers on funds withdrawn from a certificate before maturity. The program is
designed to help lessen financial stress during challenging times.
“Our hearts go out to our members and everyone
who has been affected by the recent hurricanes and the wildfires,” said
Elizabeth J. Dooley, EECU president and CEO. “Our disaster assistance program
provides relief and support to our members during a very trying time. They have
enough to worry about without the added stress of wondering how they are going
to pay their bills and other unforeseen expenses.”
EECU has a dedicated phone line that its members can call to
learn more about the relief options available to them. It activates the disaster
assistance program to support its members who are impacted by fires, hurricanes,
floods, and other natural disasters; assistance is also available to those experiencing
a financial hardship due to a job loss or other circumstance.
